Japan's Leading Provider of Network Solutions to Bolster its Offerings with Counterpane's Network Security Services

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., February 10, 2004 - Counterpane Internet Security, Inc., the leader in Network Security Services, today announced the formation of a strategic partnership with Intec Communications, Inc., a leading provider of network solutions in Japan. Intec Communications will integrate Counterpane's security monitoring capabilities with its Network Operation Center (NOC) operations to enhance its services and offer customers real-time protection against network security threats.

As one of Japan's leading providers of network solutions, Intec Communications plans, develops, builds and manages networks, offering its customers access to one of Japan's premier Internet Protocol networks. Through the partnership, which includes joint marketing, sales and development, Intec Communications will offer Counterpane's network security services through the development of a Secure Operations Center (SOC) in Japan. The localized SOC combined with the experience of Counterpane's security analysts and Intec Communications' existing service capabilities will offer Japanese customers total network service provisioning and support.
